The history of Elevation Church Australia is a story of people responding to God’s call and faithfully stepping into their purpose. From its beginnings with Pastors Ross and Kathy Abraham in 2007, Elevation has grown into a thriving community with multiple locations. With a strong foundation and a vision for the future, Elevation is poised for continued growth and greater impact in the years to come.

2007
Pastors Ross and Kathy Abraham returned from the USA to the Gold Coast, Australia, to resume leadership of the church they had planted 15 years earlier. With a vision to inspire people to elevate their relationship with Christ, their perspective, and their lives, they launched Elevation Church. The name “Elevation” reflected this desire to take people to another level in their spiritual journey. Initially, the church rented space in a shopping center, laying the foundation for what would become a growing movement.

2009
The first “Quick Fit” was carried out at the Gold Coast building location, showcasing the church’s commitment to rapid, effective transformations of spaces to serve the community. This success spurred the church to undertake many more Quick Fit projects for the community. The same year, Elevation Church expanded to its second location in Tweed Heads after successfully purchasing a site there.

2012
Ross and Kathy Abraham were appointed National Chairmen for the International Network of Churches (INC), broadening their influence and leadership across Australia and around the world.

2015
Elevation Church further expanded to include locations in Hills, Penrith, and Redlands, as these communities expressed a desire to join the Elevation network, enhancing the church’s reach and impact.

2016
The church’s growth continued with the addition of Melbourne West, bringing another vibrant community under the Elevation Church banner.

2017
Elevation Church embarked on its first mission trip to the Solomon Islands, where they conducted a Quick Fit at the rundown INC Bible College. This mission laid the groundwork for an ongoing commitment to support the Solomon Islands, making it a focal point for Elevation’s international outreach efforts.

2018
This year marked significant growth for Elevation Church with the launch of multiple new locations. A new church was planted in Yamba, northern NSW, followed by launches in Cairns and Mandurah. Each new site involved Quick Fit projects, further demonstrating the church’s commitment to practical, community-focused ministry. Elevation further expanded to include a location in Tamworth, NSW.

2023
In a significant leadership transition, Pastors Miles and Bonnie Paludan took over as Executive Lead Pastors of Elevation Church, allowing Ross and Kathy Abraham to focus on their roles as INC Chairmen. As part of this transition, four locations—Redlands, Tweed, Yamba, and Tamworth—were released to continue their missions under their own banners, marking a new chapter for Elevation Church and its network.

2024
Southland, our worship ministry that grew out of what was previously known as Elevation Youth, was launched. The name Southland is inspired by our nations Christian namesake, “The Great Southland of the Holy Spirit (1606)”. This ministry represents the heart and prayer of Elevation Church to see revival sparked like the world has never seen!
Elevation Church remains focused on its mission to grow, inspire, and make a lasting impact, faithfully stepping into a future full of opportunity and growth.
